How the numbers work

1. What it will cost

You enter what the goal would cost if you needed it today. With inflation on, that amount is grown at that rate until the year you need it, because ₹25 lakh buys less in ten years than it does today.

2. What you already have

Anything you've already saved for a goal is assumed to grow at the expected return, and the SIP only needs to cover the rest.

3. The SIP that closes the gap

SIPs are invested at the start of each month. We use the true monthly equivalent of your yearly return, so growth is never overstated, and round each SIP up to the next ₹100.
